Advanced Cancer-Aware Health Screening – Men 60+
Advanced Diagnostic Protocol
Clinical Significance
From 60 onwards, the value of structured health monitoring rises sharply: cancer incidence, cardiovascular risk and metabolic conditions all become more common. Our Advanced Cancer-Aware Health Screening for Men 60+ is built for this life stage — a comprehensive panel spanning full blood count, kidney, liver, thyroid, diabetes and cholesterol, strengthened with inflammation markers (CRP and high-sensitivity CRP), Vitamin D and age-relevant cancer and cardiac markers, all interpreted in a detailed written nurse report.

Frequently Asked Questions
Q. How is this different from the Platinum Full Body MOT?
This package is specifically calibrated for men over 60. It retains the comprehensive metabolic foundation and adds inflammation markers (CRP and hs-CRP), which become more informative with age, alongside the cancer and cardiac markers most relevant to this age group.
Q. Why do inflammation markers matter more after 60?
Chronic low-grade inflammation is associated with cardiovascular disease and several age-related conditions. High-sensitivity CRP adds prognostic information to standard cholesterol testing when assessing heart disease risk, and unexplained persistently raised inflammation always deserves GP review.
Q. Does this screening check for all cancers?
No blood panel can screen for all cancers, and we will never claim otherwise. This screening includes recognised blood markers relevant to men over 60 alongside broad organ-function testing that can pick up indirect signs warranting further assessment. It complements — never replaces — NHS programmes such as bowel screening, and prompt GP review of any symptoms.
Q. What should I do with my results?
Your written nurse report explains every marker in plain English. Most results simply provide reassurance and a baseline. Where follow-up is sensible, the report says so clearly, and we can provide copies for your NHS GP record.
Q. How long does the appointment take?
Around 30 minutes, including a health and lifestyle questionnaire, blood pressure, BMI and other vital measurements, and the blood draw by our registered nurse. Results typically arrive within two working days.
Clinical Protocol
A 12-hour fast is required for accurate glucose and lipid results — only water during the fasting period. Avoid vigorous exercise and ejaculation for 48 hours before the test as both can raise PSA. Bring a list of current medications.
If you require a fasting lipid profile and glucose test, please fast for 12 hours before your appointment; only water is permitted during the fasting period.

Health after 60 — why structure beats guesswork
Most serious conditions of later life — cardiovascular disease, type 2 diabetes, chronic kidney disease and many cancers — develop quietly over years. Regular structured screening converts that silence into data: trends in HbA1c, eGFR, cholesterol fractions and inflammation markers often reveal direction of travel long before symptoms appear, giving you and your GP time to act with lifestyle changes or early treatment.
A realistic word about cancer markers
We use the phrase "cancer-aware" deliberately. Blood markers such as PSA are useful signals, not verdicts: they can be raised without cancer and normal despite it. What a broad panel adds is context — anaemia, inflammation, liver or bone abnormalities can all be indirect prompts for timely investigation. Your report is written in this spirit: honest about limitations, clear about next steps, and always signposting NHS care where appropriate.
Designed around you, seven days a week
Appointments run seven days a week at our South Kensington clinic, two minutes from the Underground. There is nothing to pay when you book, fasting appointments are available from 8am on Fridays, and your results arrive within about two working days with a report you can genuinely understand — and share with your GP.
Important: This is a screening (risk assessment) blood test, not a diagnostic test. No blood test can confirm or rule out cancer on its own. Results outside the reference range do not mean you have cancer, and normal results do not guarantee its absence. If you have symptoms, or your results are unexpected, we will advise you to discuss them with your GP, who can arrange further investigation where appropriate.
